To keep up with today’s competitive markets, Amazon is following in the footsteps of its big brother, Google, and revolutionizing it’s company. The international electronic retail company is expanding its horizons by creating new technology of its own. In the past, Amazon has introduced devices that have changed the way we read, use mobile computing, and watch TV. Now, they hope to add to this list by changing the way we use our phones.

We all remember Amazon’s first electronic device, the Kindle. Novel at the time, this e-book reader used an E-Ink virtual paper display, which prevented glare and eye strain when reading in the sun. Amazon then eventually upgraded their Kindle to the Kindle Fire HDX — a tablet featuring online access and multimedia capabilities. Next, they introduced the Amazon Fire TV, which provided HDTV online entertainment, instant video rentals, photo and video streaming and even games.

Amazon’s latest creation, which will be released on July 25th, is the Amazon Fire Phone. Running on a custom operating system, Fire OS 3.5, the Fire Phone has plenty of speed to run any app on the market. And outfitted with a rear-facing camera with High Definition Recording, as well as a 2.1 MP front facing camera, the phone can take clear, sophisticated-looking videos. In order to keep up with your busy day, the battery lasts for up to 22 hours of talk time and an astonishing 285 hours of standby time.

The Fire Phone has a 4.7 inch High Definition LCD display, which is perfect for movies and high definition gaming. If for any reason the screen is not big enough, Fire Phone also supports screen mirroring, which enables the user to copy the phone’s screen straight onto a smart TV or onto an HD TV, with the use of the Amazon Fire TV.

One of the most intuitive features on the Fire Phone is the dedicated camera hardware key, which activates the camera with one tap and takes a picture with the second tap. Amazon’s phone also has an interface called Dynamic Perspective, which gives a 3D illusion to lock screens, wallpapers, maps and games.

One of the newest features on the market is Firefly, which has the capability to recognize printed phone numbers, web sites, business cards and email addresses, then save them into your phone. Firefly can also recognize songs, specific TV episodes, movies, art work, bar codes and QR codes. This will permit users to find any song, movie or product, and display information about the product as well as purchase it on Amazon’s website.

Techies look forward to giving the Amazon Fire Phone a test trial, and we can’t wait for it to be released to the public.
