The 2015 CFDA Awards Tonight!

Tonight is the night of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards! The CFDA is a not-for-profit trade association with over 400 members in womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory design. They recognize all the contributions made to American fashion by people from all areas of the industry. The CFDA fashion awards guild submits the nominations for each category. The event will host top fashion retailers, journalists, stylists, influencers and the 450+ members of the CFDA. The awards are in collaboration with Swarovski.

Kelly Osbourne will be the official host for the CFDA’s red carpet coverage, the full coverage of the event will be available on the CFDA website tomorrow. Josh Ostrovsky will be posting content on Instragram (@TheFat_Jewish) and Casey Neistat (vlogger and filmmaker) is creating the first official live Snapchat story via @CaseyNeistat and @The_CFDA. The very talented James Corden will be hosting the awards ceremony. Like any award ceremony the competition for best dressed is on. Rhianna’s iconic all crystal gown will be hard to top from last years awards ceremony. Fashion icon award recipient Pharrell Williams will make an appearance as well as Kim Kardashian who will present the media award for Instagram with Kevin Systrom. Also presenting awards is Taraji P. Henson for the accessory designer of the year and womenswear designer of the year. Joshua Jackson will award the menswear designer of the year and his girlfriend, Diane Kruger will also be there with Prabal Gurung.

Nina Garcia will introduce the segment of remembering those in fashion who have passed away in the last year which include: Gustave Tassell and Luis Estevez, both CFDA founding members, Mary Ann Restivo, Carlos Falchi, Koos Van Den Akker, Vince Camuto, Eileen Ford, John B. Fairchild, and Oscar de la Renta, who was the president of the CFDA twice. Chelsea Clinton, will present this special tribute to him. Franca Sozzani and Valeria Golino will present Valentio’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli with the international award, and David Remnick will do the honors for the Founders Award recipient.
